We know that leaving your pup in someone else’s hands is no easy decision. Our mission is to make you and your pup as comfortable as possible while they’re in the care of Santa Barbara Dog Dude. We promise to not only love your pup just as much as you do, but also teach them true friendship and adventure in the pack environment – allowing your dog to learn and form positive relationships with our staff and other pups.
Consultations / Evaluations
Your journey with Santa Barbara Dog Dude begins here! To ensure a beneficial and comfortable experience for your canine friend with our group and /or training regime, an Initial Assessment is mandatory.
In this session of 60 minutes, we take the following actions:
- Evaluate your dog’s leash etiquette, social behavior, structure, and the comprehensive awareness of boundaries, and rules in home.
- Guide you on the art of effective communication with your pet in a language they can comprehend.
- Show you how to establish clear, fair expectations and ensure consistent follow-through.
- Detail the regulations of our programs.
- Formulate a tailor-made training schedule and discuss the way forward, in tune with your dog’s unique needs.

Board and Train Program
4 to 6 weeks
Followed by a minimum of 10 hours of follow up owner education
Each of our training programs includes a Mini Educator E Collar by E Collar Technologies along with a 15-foot training line or retractable leash. While E Collar training is not mandatory, it is strongly suggested and most people opt for it once they observe its effectiveness and simplicity for the dogs.
At Santa Barbara Dog Dude, we welcome dedicated and passionate dog owners who only want the highest quality care for their canine companions. Your dog won’t be sequestered in a loud, stressful boarding facility, but rather will become an extended member of our family. They will enjoy daily interaction with my own dogs and family members within the comfort and warmth of our home.
We don’t just focus on your pet, but also on you – the owner. Complimentary to your dog’s stay, we provide follow-up sessions to help upgrade not only your pet’s obedience and behavior but also your mutual relationship. In these sessions, we unravel the techniques involving clickers, verbal cues, rewards, play, and other training tools used during your pet’s stay.
You’ll learn to employ playtime effectively and build that envy-of-the-park bond with your dog. To top it off, Santa Barbara Dog Dude offers access to follow up sessions, unlimited online and telephone support for the lifespan of your pet. Your dog is as precious to us as it is to you!

Pack Walk Day Camps
We believe in engaging your dog in positive physical, mental, and social exercises for an all-around enriching day. The best part? We handle the pick-ups and drop-offs, delivering you a content, peaceful, and undoubtedly tired dog at the end of the day. Balance and good behavior made easy with Santa Barbara Dog Dude!
