Hey, I’m Bryan.

I Train Dogs.
But Really, I Help People Do More With Their Dogs.

Santa Barbara Dog Dude was built around a simple idea: training should make life with your dog more enjoyable. That means motivation, clear communication, play, adventure and giving dogs the skills and confidence to experience more of the world alongside their people.

My Story

I started Santa Barbara Dog Dude because I wanted to build a business around something I genuinely enjoy: spending time with dogs.

What started as walking dogs has grown into pack adventures, private training, Board & Trains, and a much bigger obsession with learning everything I can about dog training.

Over the last eight years, I’ve been fortunate enough to learn from some incredible trainers, attend seminars, travel for training, and work with a lot of different dogs.

More recently, dog sports have become a huge part of my life. I compete in PSA with my own dog and became a certified PSA decoy, which has opened up an entirely new side of dog training for me.

I don’t consider myself finished. That’s actually one of my favorite things about this work. There’s always another dog to learn from, another trainer who sees something differently, and another skill to get better at.

At Santa Barbara Dog Dude, I want to take what I’m learning and use it to give dogs a more fulfilling life. I want them getting out, having fun, learning, exploring, and doing things with their people.

There’s always another dog to learn from.

What We Believe

Everything we do is built around helping dogs and their people understand each other, enjoy each other and experience more life together.

Motivation Matters

Find what the dog loves and give them a reason to work with you.

Communication Goes Both Ways

Good training means learning to understand your dog as much as teaching them.

Dogs Should Have Fun

Training, play, socialization and adventure do not have to be separate things.

Training Creates Freedom

Better skills mean more places you can go and more experiences you can share.

Never Stop Learning

Every dog teaches us something and every experience helps us grow.
